Being that Florida is one big swamp you can find birds congregating in the strangest places. The Venice Rookery is one of those spots. Located essentially behind a Wal-Mart in Venice Florida, this little island is a popular breeding spot for Herons and Egrets because the surrounding water protects the birds from mammalian predators.
