Arriving at the pond today I noticed what I thought were Tundra Swans. I’ve seen them over the last few years around the end of March, early April. They only stick around for a few days so I assume they use the pond as a layover on their trip north. When I got home and downloaded the images I discovered they weren’t Tundra, but Mute Swans. They’re distinguished by the prominent black nob at the base of the orange bill. First time I’ve seen this species on the pond.
