I was walking in Brookside Park, Pasadena when I spotted this hawk swooping down from a tree. I watched him as he flew from one tree to another and then lost sight of him. The family and I were sitting at a picnic table ordering a takeout lunch when we spotted him in a tree not far away. I didn’t really have the proper equipment with me as we were just out for a stroll but I figured I’d give it a shot to see if I could get close enough. I was amazed that he let me approach to within about 30 feet and let me get off a few shots.
