onondaga lake

January 29, 2023

I took the 2 1/2 hour drive to Syracuse, NY and spent three days trying to track down some Bald eagles on Onondaga Lake. A large portion of the lake doesn’t freeze over in the winter which attracts northern eagles heading south searching for a spot to fish. All three mornings offered very dim and flat light. The temps were below freezing and fairly strong winds off the lake made for some pretty frigid shooting conditions.
