Joshua Tree National Park lies about 140 miles east of Los Angeles. Another night in a cheap motel in the small village of Twenty-Nine Palms puts me just outside of the park and provides a very short predawn drive to catch a typically beautiful sunrise. I love the tranquility and peacefulness of this park. It’s not heavily visited, I was completely alone on this morning, and there is a very magical, otherworldly, even spiritual vibe to this location that makes it one of my favorite places to visit.
