For the past 4 years I’ve made the 7 hour drive down to Darlington Maryland to photograph eagles fishing at the base of Conowingo Dam. Starting around October, numerous Bald Eagles travel down from the north and settle at this site because the water doesn’t freeze and there is an abundant food supply. Over a hundred birds have been documented during a busy November. I like to get there just before sunrise to set up on the bank of the river as the action seems to be at it’s peek just as day breaks and then tapers off until just before dusk.
