I was kneeling behind my tripod and tracking this Coastal Gray wolf as it approached, closer and closer. I had no idea what it was up to with this slow, creeping posture.

Just as I was getting overly concerned and about to take my eye from the viewfinder his left paw struck out in a flash. I flinched and jerked back from my camera and then watched as he swept up a dead salmon that was hidden away in the weeds about 10 feet in front of me.
