I watched this Great Blue Heron try to swallow this Small-mouth Bass a couple of times with no luck. These birds have been known to actually choke to death trying to swallow prey that is too large. I don’t know if he was ever successful as I backed off feeling I was making him nervous and I didn’t want to stress him out.
